What great photographs! I would never have found your site if you hadn’t replied to mine. I’m glad you did.
Fond memories of a beautiful country that has changed so much. I was born just before indepenence and I now live in Suburban Washington D.C.
I cannot shake the memories of the land where I was born and played as a child. I cheish the memories every day.
I can only imagine what Guyana looked like at the time when the contributors were born and lived there (much earlier of course).
I long to return and possibly live in Guyana some day. I am sure that there are thousands of people like me who share the same sentiments.
Loved reading what all of you wrote and enjoyed the pictures. I wished there were more.
Incredible photography! I am interested in wildlife photography and would like to upgrade to an SLR. Any advice on a reasonably priced entry level camera? Thanks.

BobW (I think right now the best bang for the buck is the 6 Mpixel Nikon D40, but pretty much any DSLR does a great job, just get anything an go. I noticed on your blog you’re doing just fine with what you have.)
My mother is English, married a Guyanese. I spent first 19 years of my life in Guyana…My memories though much later were of a wonderful garden city, Georgetown. I went to the Ursuline Convent as well. I loved the nuns they helped to shape my life and values. Guyana was still a wonderful place before the riots of 1962.
Love the photos – so nostalgic….
